What You Will Do/Need (Job Summary):
The job of General Maintenance Worker was established for the purpose/s of providing maintenance services as needed and/or assigned; assisting in a wide variety of maintenance activities; addressing immediate operational and/or safety concerns; assisting skilled trades; and ensuring that tools, materials and vehicles are maintained in good working order and are available when needed. Outside seasonal task are also required.
Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Responsibilities)
- Perform routine, repetitive daily inspection and maintenance necessary to building exterior/interior
- Assists and performs with installation, maintenance, repair and construction work in the basic building maintenance trades, such as carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, locksmith, carpet, and mechanics
- Perform general grounds keeping on a daily basis; inspect outside of the club area, insure all areas are kept clean and in a safe condition
- Prepares and paints walls and woodwork or performs other types of refinish; installs or repairs carpet; performs custodial duties as required
- May perform weekly safety checks throughout the facility to ensure a safe and clean environment for the patrons of the facility and to eliminate all hazards
- Perform routine outside seasonal tasks including; shoveling, raking, mowing, trimming, etc.
- Various housekeeping tasks; vacuuming, mopping, window cleaning, and brass cleaning
- Other house keeping and engineering projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, skills, and abilities required)
- One year experience as a semi-skilled worker in one or more of the basic building maintenance trades and/or one year experience in a warehouse distribution operation
- Knowledge of manual and electrical hand tools
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include off-shift hours and weekend assignments
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to lift and stack objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequently exert 10 to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects
- Work involves frequent periods of standing and walking, which may include climbing ladders and staircases
- Work involves stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning and reaching; bending at the waist. Indoor/ out-door work environment with exposure to weather extremes
