Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in a medical setting, demonstrating proficiency in performing a variety of technical and administrative tasks to support medical professionals and ensure the efficient operation of our facility. This position is for part-time work on Saturdays and Sundays.
Responsibilities:
- Medical Testing and Analysis: Conduct various medical tests such as blood, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures under the supervision of healthcare professionals, utilizing instrumentation from Diasorin, Beckman, and others.
- Instrumentation Operation: Operate and maintain instrumentation from Diasorin and Beckman for conducting medical tests, ensuring accuracy and reliability in test results. Perform routine maintenance and calibration of instrumentation as required.
- Data Entry and Record-Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of patient information, test results, and other relevant data in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Quality Control: Assist in maintaining quality control measures for instrumentation, including monitoring instrument performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Patient Care Support: Provide assistance to healthcare professionals during medical resulting, critical calls, provider education, etc.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and administrative staff, to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
Requirements:
- Education: Associate degree in medical technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field. Bachelor's degree or other on-site job training preferred.
- Certification: Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) preferred but not required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as a Medical Technician in a clinical or hospital setting, with experience operating instrumentation from Diasorin and Beckman preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in performing medical tests and operating laboratory equipment, particularly instrumentation from Diasorin and Beckman.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks, recording data, and following procedures.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and patient needs.
- Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards governing medical testing and laboratory practices.
