Position Summary
Ava is seeking to hire a full-time Marketing Associate to join the Marketing team and report to the Programs Marketing Manager. The Marketing Associate will drive the awareness and customer acquisition activities for multiple programs supporting local development initiatives. This role will be a key player in supporting the launch of new local development programs Ava.
Position Details
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Act as a project manager, leading projects and supporting the Marketing & Local Development teams by taking the project lead role or supporting other projects, including:
- Managing multiple projects and deadlines
- Coordinating the work of others to meet project milestones and goals
- Communicating project status to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner
- Preparing standard and ad hoc reports
- Documenting updates and relevant information in shared project management tool(s)
- Actively participating in department and internal customer project status meetings
- Facilitate and support partner agencies to deliver excellent products and services, including:
- Partnering with external partners, including design and marketing agencies, to coordinate the on-time delivery of marketing assets
- Coordinating and reviewing submitted content to ensure alignment with Ava branding
- Reviewing delivered products and services and ensuring quality standards are met
- Maintain project records on an ongoing basis for efficient reuse, retrieval, and updating
- Collaborate with marketing team members and other staff at Ava to support other efforts and initiatives
- Identify, document, and suggest opportunities for continuous improvement
- Perform other duties as required
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or a relevant Associate’s degree with 6 years of relevant work experience, or a High School diploma with equivalent to 8 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong project management experience, including as lead project manager, and familiar with project management software
- Experience with marketing campaigns and digital marketing
- Experience working creatively and ability to apply creativity and innovation to projects
- Experience successfully marketing products/services that require behavior change a plus
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail; able to manage priorities and workflow
- Be able to work independently
- Ability to exercise strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to be present onsite at Ava headquarters according to Ava’s Hybrid Work Policy, which includes at least 2 days per week and 3 days in the first week of each month
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary for this position is $126,911, with a Total Compensation of up to $137,064 annually based on performance.

Location and Working Conditions
This position will be based in Ava headquarters in Oakland, near BART. Ava's team has a hybrid approach inclusive of in-office and remote work. This role is expected to go into the office on Tuesday, Thursday, and the first Wednesday of the month. We are not providing relocation or sponsorships currently.
