Position Title: Marketing & Development Assistant

Position Summary
The Marketing & Development Assistant is responsible for all administrative aspects of development, marketing projects, social media, and public relations activities.
Scope and Impact
The Marketing & Development Assistant plays an important role by providing support to the Development Office, developing & implementing marketing strategies, managing social media and website platforms, and participating in all fundraising activities including donor and public relations, direct mail appeals, and special events.
Principle Accountabilities
· Prepare acknowledgment letters and other correspondence.
· Create & disseminate CATS’ bi-monthly newsletter.
· Coordinate productions and mail appeal letters.
· Maintain guest lists, gather & prepare registration materials, and other duties as assigned for fund-raising events.
· Assemble media and donor kits for events and meetings.
· Primary lead on creating marketing and public relations materials.
· Ensure marketing materials undergo regular review & adhere to agency guidelines.
· Assist with planning events.
· Maintain social media presence for CATS (i.e. Facebook, X, Instagram, etc…)
· Assist with website maintenance & updates as needed.
· Other duties as assigned by the Director of Development.
Possible performance measures:
· Success in expanding social media connections.
· Accuracy of newsletter (grammar, spelling, etc…).
· Growing event sponsors by 10-15% annually.
· Timeliness of reports and/or all required mailings.
Preparation and Knowledge
· 2 years of experience in marketing, non-profit management, social media management, and/or website management.
· High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, non-profit management, or a similar field preferred.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
· Ability to organize and prioritize work.
· Ability to work independently with little supervision.
· Excellent interpersonal skills.
· Interpersonal/human relations skills.
· Organizational/planning skills.
· Operation of computer w/ various software packages.
· Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
· Basic knowledge of Excel.
· Experience with marketing and/or graphic design a plus (CANVA & Adobe primarily).
· Job may include occasional attendance at events in the evenings and/or weekends (typically less than 5 times per year).

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
