Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care in an acute care setting, utilizing their expertise in medical terminology, trauma medicine, and critical care. Duties:
- Provide comprehensive patient care in a fast-paced medical/surgical unit, including assessing patients, administering medications, and monitoring vital signs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans and deliver high-quality care to patients with diverse needs.
- Utilize medical terminology to accurately document patient information, communicate with healthcare providers, and educate patients and their families.
- Perform venipuncture and other invasive procedures as needed.
- Apply critical care principles to manage patients with acute and chronic conditions, including those requiring life-sustaining interventions.
- Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans, including discharge planning and home care instructions.
- Maintain a safe and organized environment, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
- Provide basic life support, including CPR and ACLS, as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments, including home care, to ensure seamless transitions for patients.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in trauma medicine and critical care, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
Requirements:
- Current RN licensure in the state of employment.
- BSN or ADN degree in nursing.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Experience in acute care or critical care environments.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and critical care principles.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and transfer patients as needed.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and hospital systems.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.
