The City of Seattle is seeking a motivated Senior Automotive Engineer to lead complex projects and shape the Fleet Management Division’s technology strategy.
The Fleet Management Division manages a fleet of approximately 4,000 pieces of equipment used by many City departments as they carry out their work of providing critical City services. Reporting to the Design and Procurement Manager, this position performs complex planning and vehicle design work, vehicle and equipment procurement, and research and analysis to support decisions that affect the City’s fleet program. This position provides a unique opportunity to support our goal of being environmentally responsible and cost-effective with fleet decisions.

FAS is often the public's first interaction with the City of Seattle, operating as a customer-focused front door that assists with everything from paying utilities or reporting a pothole to requesting public information or even adopting a new pet.
The 450-plus employees of FAS span across 10 divisions and work behind-the-scenes providing critical functions, like managing 120 City facilities—including police and fire stations—coordinating logistics and emergency management and making sure minority-owned businesses can equitably compete for City contracts. This position is classified as an Automotive Engineer, Senior. The full salary range for this job classification is 49.32 - $57.51 per hour. The identified salary range is approximately $102,980 - $120,080 annually. This position is FLSA non-exempt (eligible for overtime) and is a Classified Civil Service, Regular, Full-Time position.
