Provide support to Accounts Receivable department functions. Specific responsibilities include limited supervision following standardized processes and practices while leading, guiding and coordinating with other team members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Monitor past due accounts, analyze issues related to the past due accounts and suggest resolution in a time frame agreed with the Assistant Controller
· Oversee the AR team’s daily functions and offer assistance when needed.
· Assist and lead projects with Accounting Supervisor and Controller.
· Participate in month-end activities which include the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and audits for AR and other tasks as assigned.
· Backup to cash application from various forms of payment including ACH, PayPal, e-check, check, wire payment and credit card.
· Experience with large national retailers such as AutoZone, Walmart, Crutchfield and ability to reconcile these types of accounts
· Experience with Amazon Seller payment processing
· Resolve customer inquiries and provide invoices and account balance information.
· Review and approve customer account adjustments (i.e. debit/credit memos, account write-offs, etc.,) within approved authority level.
· New customer credit set up, including experience with D&B.
· Reconciliation of intercompany accounts.
· Provide monthly status update and/or exception reports to the Assistant Controller
· Review and propose update to AR policy and procedure
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES:
· Perform monthly commission review and processing
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: What does a person in this position need to be able to do?
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Experience working with PC and data entry.
· Intermediate skills working with Microsoft Excel, proficiency with MS Office.
· Basic Accounting knowledge.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Prefer BBA, Finance, Accounting or other related discipline
· 4+ years in an accounting environment
PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Good general health, ability to withstand stress of long hours during closing month-end tasks
· Must be able to work overtime as needed.
· Must be punctual, able to follow attendance guidelines, and work hours as assigned.
· Must be able to analyze complex data as a basis for process improvement recommendations and implement solutions
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Carries out Team Lead responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable law.
· Responsibilities include training; assigning, reviewing, and approving work; addressing complaints and resolving problems with the manager.
