BCBA’s are primarily responsible for directing a team of Behavioral Consultants and Tutors to implement programming and Behavior Intervention Plans for students and patients assigned to Learning Solutions. Additionally, BCBA’s are responsible for all management and supervision of behavioral consultants, including but not limited to, performance management, overseeing their work, and providing guidance on cases. In addition, they are responsible for communicating with clients and parents, and reporting the progress and case developments to the Clinical Manager and Director/President of Learning Solutions.
- Duties include, but not limited to :
1. Provide training, ongoing support, and evaluation to teams of therapists, behavior consultants.
a. Offers assistance and guidance to peers; is sensitive to the needs, feelings and capabilities of others. Approaches others in a non-threatening and pleasant manner and treats them with respect Provide final approval on development and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans.
2. Demonstrates the ability to collaborate with other professionals (e.g. funding sources, multidisciplinary teams)
3. Models the training of interventionists, consultants in discrete trial teaching, activity based intervention, PECS, reinforcement, and behavior management.
4. Review (proof and edit) progress reports outlining client’s progress toward goals and objectives on cases that one supervises on.
a. May be responsible for reviewing consultant edits and providing additional feedback
5. Write progress reports outlining client’s progress toward goals and objectives on cases that one supervises on in a timely manner. Develop, monitor, and modify clients’ programs that focus on teaching new skills and reducing/eliminating problem behaviors.
6. Develop and introduce new programs and curriculum as needed.
7. Communicate with parents/guardians regarding clients’ strengths and deficit areas.
8. Communicate with consultant regarding child’s progress, strengths and needs areas.
a. Including reviewing the data analysis and documentation of completed by the consultant and providing feedback/collaborate on data analysis
9. Manage caseloads in accordance with learning Solutions’ philosophy and ethics.
a. Demonstrates the appropriate level of contracted hours based on agreed on/contracted hours and reaches out when hours are below, when more contracted hours/cases are needed/or when there are gaps in the schedule
10. Ensure that case notes document all services provided and documentation protocols are complied with. Ensures that case notes are completed on a timely basis and in accordance with established organizational procedures
11. Be punctual to all client sessions and trainings.
12. Demonstrate the ability to provide training/coaching to families.
a. Ensures that a minimum of monthly parent meetings are held
b. Seeks meaningful ways to train and coach parents and adjusts strategies and goals on an ongoing basis and family needs change/evolve
13. Demonstrate the ability to conduct, write, and implement Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA)
14. Demonstrate ability to make and render schedule in accordance with Learning Solutions policies.
15. May be asked to contribute to a team effort by accomplishing different tasks, that can be outside of typical job duties and responsibilities.
a. Seeks out opportunities to collaborate with; assist other departments when able; is immediately responsive to other department members (e.g. responds within sameday, offers to cover, collaborates with scheduling department regarding solutions for coverage/training schedules)
16. Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA/FERPA guidelines/ regulations
17. Ensure that problems solved are able to balance the need of the agency as well as the needs of the clients. When solving problems, stays within area of expertise and asks for support if problem area is outside of scope
18. Meet as needed with supervised staff to discuss ongoing consumer issues and to provide support when necessary.
a. Ensure that pre-schedule meetings with consultants and/or other Learning Solutions staff are held and/or scheduling conflicts are communicated in a timely manner.
b. Ensures clients/patients are seen on a regular basis and if there are issues with scheduling that information is reported to the Senior Supervising Consultant
c. Analyzing and reporting on Program Manager and Junior BCBA performance including reviews and interactive processes
19. Provide supervision to BCBA candidates as outlined by Learning Solutions and the BACB guidelines if/when appropriate
20. Provide supervision to BCATs and demonstrate flexibility to ensure that RBT/BCAT hours are met
We are currently looking for staff in the Sacramento, Elk Grove, and Placer counties. Must be willing to commute to different areas on a daily basis.
- Minimum Qualification: (Education/Experience):
Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, Child Development, Social Work, Behavioral Science or related field.
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA®) with current certification in good standing with regulatory board and strong background in ABA.

Minimum two years of experience working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis with persons with developmental disabilities, including those with challenging behaviors.
Experience in Working with people with autism spectrum disorder and preferably in multiple settings (e.g. clinic, school, home, community) and across age ranges.
· Knowledgeable of evidence-based methodologies found to benefit children diagnosed with ASD, including but not limited to ABA, Natural Teaching (e.g. Activity Based Intervention, Early Start Denver Model), Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication-Handicapped Children (TEACCH), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills; American Sign Language or bilingual ability preferred
· Two or more years' experience providing staff direction and development in a supervisory role.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and related computer software.
· Ability to develop effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
· Sensitivity to providing services to an ethnically, linguistically, culturally and economically diverse population.
· Commitment to continuing education and training and development as it relates to professional skills.
- Licenses/Certification Requirements:
- Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) in good standing.
- A valid California driver’s license is required while working in California.
- Access to reliable means of transportation.
- Current Immunizations: Negative TB, Hep B, Tdap, MMR and Varicella
