Responsibilities
We are seeking a full-time experienced fire protection professional to join and lead our growing team as a Fire Extinguisher Technician. The ideal candidate will be pivotal in delivering on our service promise to our customers by ensuring that all Fire Extinguisher equipment is in proper working order and meets the local, state and federal compliance codes.
General Duties
- Conduct Fire Extinguisher inspections by recording, documenting, and providing recommendations to customers
- Perform the necessary service, repair, installation, refilling of Fire Extinguishers at customer premises
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, and operational product manuals to assist customers in the inspection, modification, installation and/or repair of fire systems
- Conduct and oversee inspection of fire extinguishers in accordance with NFPA 10
- Assist and collaborate with the Repair Team in recommending repairs to be performed on the fire systems, as needed
- Perform on-site emergency troubleshooting and repairs as may be needed
- Prepare accurate and timely service tickets and reports for customer’s and local fire-marshals
- Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with customers with the desire of delivering stellar service
- Consult and advise customers regarding potential safety issues
- Other general duties and responsibilities as may be assigned

Ideal Candidates Requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude; required
- 1+ years of experience preferred in portable fire extinguishers, or volunteer fire fighting, or wild fire; will train if you have the right attitude
- Knowledge of fire systems and/or tools; a great plus
- Oregon Fire Extinguisher Certification of Fitness; a plus but not required
- ICC certification, a plus but not required
- Cursory knowledge of NFPA codes, local fire codes and/or manufacture specifications; is a plus
- Great attention to details and documentation precision; required
- Solid verbal and written communication skills; a must
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Ability to carry, move tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Clean driving record; required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 50 per week
