Summary:
Responsible for Regional Accounts (customers that typically utilize less than 20-30KNT/annum each) in North America (USA, Canada)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Customer relationship management for the region of responsibility.
2. Develops and implements strategic marketing plans, annual sales plans, and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services provided to customers.
3. Updates the CRM with customer reports and market information and uses the CRM for managing sales to target.
4. Prepares negotiation strategy for Regional Customers in North America to align with Company budgetary objectives. Carries out negotiation strategy.
5. Able to convert negotiated outcomes into contractual agreements; capable of drafting contractual agreements for Legal approval and working with the Legal Department to close.
6. Identifies and recommends potential new business opportunities (prospects), aligned with the long-term corporate objectives of the Company by analyzing strategic fit, customer financial stability and service requirements (volume, supply chain, tech service).
7. Coordinates between Customer Services and the Plant to feedback customer product/service requirements and resolve complaints within the target of 10 days.
8. Recommends product pricing and service differentiation according to end-use Segment in order to maximize value.
9. Creates and updates market intelligence data as when required: identifies competing Producers, their customers served, estimated sales volumes and pricing.
10. Prepares monthly Sales & Marketing activity report detailing variance between actual sales and forecast, as well as customer and market activity for presentation to the VP Sales & Marketing.
11. Identifies and communicates ongoing service improvement opportunities for customers.
12 The job will require extensive travel with overnight out-of-town stays common. The individual must be prepared for the rigors of travel.
Education and Experience
· BS in Science, Chemistry, or Biology preferred.
· Minimum 5 years experience in strategic account management in the chemical sector
· Good understanding of US Chemical market: major producers and consumers of alkali chemicals. Financial analysis training or experience highly desirable
