General Responsibilities:
One of the nation’s largest and most respected providers of Gastroenterology services, US Digestive Health (USDH) has built an impressive record of growth and performance. The organization has grown rapidly since its inception over five years ago. Headquartered in Exton, PA, USDH includes over 260 providers, 1200 employees and through its practices (divisions) and surgery centers operates over 50 outpatient facilities and ambulatory care access points in Pennsylvania and Delaware. The organization intends to continue to expand at a rapid pace and plans to serve new geographies in the future.
The Director, Infusion Service Line will be a highly visible leader within the organization. This Executive will be responsible for establishing an overall structure and the necessary processes to better manage and grow infusion programs managed by USDH. They will be responsible for identifying opportunities to deliver high-quality infusion services, to operate existing infusion programs more efficiently, and to improve the financial sustainability of the USDH infusion service line. Working closely with IBD specialist physicians throughout the organization the director will develop policies, protocols & educational materials to enhance the infusion services provided to USDH patients. This role will negotiate and manage relationships with infusion drug manufacturers and GPOs, payers and other third parties. This Executive will be involved in the due diligence and integration processes related to infusion services as the organization aligns with additional independent GI practices. In addition, they will report performance of the infusion service line and priorities to improve clinical, operational and financial performance to other members of the management team and the Physician Leadership Committee.
This role requires a comprehensive understanding of infusion and all that is required to provide these services within a physician practice setting of care. This leader needs to be strategic in designing a management approach for this service line and willing to engage in the details to fully implement this approach.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required.
10+ years' experience in increasing roles of responsibility within the healthcare delivery space, with experience managing infusion services or experience with a PBM organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree or clinical background/licensure is highly preferred (in particular Pharmacy training)
Experience:
Significant experience managing infusion services in a home / free standing infusion center, hospital, or physician practice setting of care, or experience with a PBM organization
Proven track record of successfully managing and growing the P&L of an infusion-related organization
Thorough understanding of all that is required to develop and grow a high-quality infusion service line
Both strategic in thought and willing to dive into the details
Experience driving results through matrixed relationships, as well as experience managing relationships with third party infusion-related vendors and service providers
Proven experience establishing, achieving and balancing short- and long-term priorities and managing multiple projects within a rigorous, fast-paced and dynamic environment
Entrepreneurial drive and the demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a dynamic environment
Experience establishing a new service line management function within an organization a plus
Previous experience with a private equity-backed organization will also be preferred
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Deep understanding of the clinical aspects related to the provision of infusion services—in particularity familiarity with key infusion medications
Understanding of the business and operational topics of infusion program management, infusion contracting and performance management
Ability to manage and improve performance of the P&L for an infusion services business
Ability to collaborate with physician groups and physician leaders on a variety of clinical and business-related topics
Ability to maintain positive relationships with third party service providers
Knowledge of the reimbursement methodology for infusion services, as well as the processes necessary to secure authorization for infusion services
Entrepreneurial spirit to establish something new and to grow professionally as the organization expands and matures
Ability to establish and communicate a clear and compelling vision, navigate change and embrace & adopt new ideas
Comfort with identifying key metrics and then managing the performance of a geographically-distributed service line to achieve performance in these key metrics
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, as well as an ability to communicate with and teach clinical employees and providers
Ability to travel up to 40%

Essential Duties:
Establish, Manage and Grow an Infusion Service Line Function within USDH
Establish an Infusion Service Line management approach within USDH
Manage and grow the P&L of the USDH infusion services business
Develop and communicate the clinical, operational, and financial direction for Infusion services within USDH-aligned practices
Design and manage a mix of internal processes and external third-party relationships to achieve maximum clinical, operational and financial impact
Establish the ability to track key Infusion Service Line metrics and report these metrics to Physician Committees, MSO senior management, the Board of Directors, and other parties
Continuously coach and educate USDH providers and employees by providing information, data, and examples of identified internal & external best practices
Manage the Clinical, Operational and Financial Performance of USDH Infusion Services
Formulate and recommend policies related to infusion services; ensure implementation of all approved policies
Identify and communicate future changes in infusion medications, infusion reimbursement and infusion delivery; translate this information into both proactive and reactive actions
Establish and manage a formulary of infusions medication
Negotiate and establish working relationships with infusion drug manufacturers and wholesalers, as well as with other infusion equipment, supply and service providers
Coordinate with USDH physician thought leaders to develop regular communication with USDH providers concerning infusion topics
Evaluate and identify opportunities to improve infusion suite clinical performance, patient experience & operational efficiency
Support efforts to negotiate contracts with health insurers
Provide inputs related to infusion services into the budgeting process
Identify opportunities to establish a more robust IBD service line throughout USDH
Advise, consult, and coordinate with multiple departments throughout the organization
Keep abreast of Federal, State and local government regulations related to infusion services
Establish a process for clinical record review and quality assurance metrics for infusion service line.
Oversee scheduling of infusion staff for all locations and ensures staffing levels are appropriate
Oversee onboarding of new infusion staff to ensure that infusion-specific training and developmental goals and objectives are met
Supervise infusion staff and evaluate infusion employee performance
Conducts regular meetings with infusion department staff at specific locations and across the organization
Onboard Newly Aligned Practices’ Infusion Services
Support due diligence efforts to assess an organization’s management of infusion services prior to joining USDH
Identify opportunities to improve the clinical, operational and financial performance of newly aligned practices’ infusion programs
Ensure newly aligned practices quickly benefit from USDH infusion contracts, third party relationships, and policies / procedures / best practices
