HOURS – Part Time evenings and weekends
Job Description:
We are looking for a Domestic Violence Shelter Staff to provide resources and support to survivors of domestic violence. The Shelter Staff will be responsible for managing daily operations of the shelter, providing advocacy and support to clients, and providing information and referrals about services in the community.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide direct services to survivors of domestic violence, including crisis intervention, safety planning, and referrals to community services
- Develop and maintain relationships with outside agencies to ensure survivors are connected with needed resources
- Monitor the shelter and provide a safe and secure environment for clients
- Assist clients with basic needs such as food, clothing, and other necessities
- Document all interactions with clients
- Participate in agency-wide trainings and meetings as requested
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
Job Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a domestic violence shelter/experience with homeless population preferred but not required
- Knowledge of community resources and services
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Night shift
- Overnight shift
- Weekends as needed
Work Location: In person
