Job Description:
Broad ability to design and support an upgrade path for SQL server to more moder versions, diagnose database deadlocks, understand batch architectures, and remediate poorly written TSQL Code. Additionally, there will be dynamic SQL created by a middle layer of the application and this role will have to work hand in hand with the Enterprise Technical Architects and Application Architects to plan and remediate issues within and adjacent to the data platform.
Additional Job Details:
- Understand how to provision Windows SQL Server 2017 Clusters with Always On Availability Groups (AAG) in Windows server or VM hosted in the client's data center.
** Must be a Sr. level with 8+ years of experience
- Experience in troubleshooting stored procedures and dynamic SQL for deadlocks and performance
- Experience migrating data using multiple methods, restore .bak, replication, SQL Always On, etc.
- Experience using the Data Migration Assistant tool
- Understand optimal disc configurations for SQL (i.e., split temp drive from data storage drives)
- Ability to review code to generate dynamic SQL queries.
- Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Experience with Administering and maintaining large databases (1.5 TB)
Secondary Skills (nice to have):
- Familiarity with Software, business requirements, and testing approaches
- Azure Certifications
- Active Directory, Azure Active Directory & Integration
- PowerShell Scripting
- Virtual machine management
- Knowledgeable/Experience with Power BI, Microstrategy and migration from SSRS
