Duties and Responsibilities:
The Domestic International Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the timely, cost-effective, and secure movement of all company domestic and international freight movements. The scope of responsibility is across the supply chain, beginning when the goods are packed up from the seller and including when the goods are delivered to a company or customer’s location. The domestic international Logistics Coordinator will prepare, distribute, and maintain all shipping documents for domestic shipments, exports, and imports.
Cross-train in customer service to serve as a backup and help with order overflow.
Customer service duties include communicating effectively with team members within the operations department, providing timely and accurate information about incoming customer order status and product requests, and partnering with the sales team to meet and exceed customers' expectations.
Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:
International Orders:
▪ Arrange bookings and update SAP with follow-up information and date changes.
▪ Shipping documents to the forwarder and the customer.
▪ Coordination with production regarding changes and scheduling equipment into load.
Bulk Shipments:
▪ Scheduling between carriers and multiple locations
▪ Updating SAP and the customer promptly so everyone has time to react and go into contingency if necessary.
Domestic Orders:
▪ ExWorks Customer shipments and working through their portals for shipment routings and scheduling.
▪ Freight Cost updating in SAP.
▪ Freight Accrual Process.
▪ Third Party Shipments - freight handling.
▪ Scheduling LTL, Bulk, and Truckload carriers for better dock productivity.
Customer Service:
▪ Enters customer orders in SAP, orders confirmed via SAP order acknowledgment.
▪ Prepare bills of lading; verify material description, customer item codes, regulatory detail, and quantity, and ship to location match the order.
▪ Arrange same-day expedited deliveries when requested by customers and approved by Management.
▪ Review shipped paperwork for proper signatures and dates.
▪ File completed sales orders monthly.
▪ Perform administrative duties as required
Requirements: Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:
▪ Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management (Preferred)
▪ 3-5 years of relevant experience
▪ Multiple languages a plus
▪ Proficiency in using personal computers, Microsoft Office products, and email skills required.
▪ Basic SAP experience is required.
▪ Work-related experience, preferably in international logistics and supply chain distribution
▪ Previous experience working with Freight Forwarders
▪ Prior working experience in customs procedures and regulations
▪ ISO, International Export, and Hazardous Material Shipping experience
▪ Prior working experience in logistics processes and procedures
▪ Ability to work in a team environment as well as an ability to work unsupervised
▪ Demonstrate previous experience in Customs Compliance or related field
▪ Ability to work and interact with all levels of personnel and maintain strong business relationships
▪ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks within strict deadlines
▪ Knowledge of Global Transportation
▪ Logistics and transportation processes, domestic and internationally
▪ Have an eye for detail and good communication skills
▪ Well organized and able to manage multiple tasks
