Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate Care Assistant to join our team and provide essential support to individuals in need.
The Care Assistant will assist with daily living activities, provide direct care, and ensure the well-being of our clients.
Times: A typical week is shown below and is scheduled 14 days in advance.
Evening/ Night shifts
Saturday: 8pm-1am (5 hours)
Sunday: 8pm-1am (5 hours)
Monday: 6pm-11 pm (5 hours)
Tuesday: 6pm-11pm (5 hours)
Wednesday: 6pm-11pm (5 hours)
Thursday: 6pm-11pm (5 hours)
Duties:
The evening shift duties is Very slow paced. Usually helping one of our five residents with getting ready for bed and helping to use the bathroom/ and toileting/ possibly need to change a diaper for any residents with incontinence. Currently about 1-2 times or less per shift.
The shift includes a lot of down time where you might be asked to do light cleaning or food preparation (cutting fruits/ veggies or simple baking.
If a daytime shift opens up you can choose to be call-in for day time shifts. The pay is higher but workload is too.
Preference given to those eager to try day shifts and cover open shifts and those interested in gaining nurse aide experience. Great job for nursing students. Yes you can study on the job if you're finished with other tasks.
See below the general duties for DAY shifts. If you want to cover open days shifts these skills would be required:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Provide direct support to clients in various settings including homes or care facilities
- Monitor and record vital signs to track client health status
- Implement behavior management techniques as needed
- Support clients with mobility, including lifting and transferring when necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
Qualifications:
-The EVENING/NIGHT shift doesn’t require years of experience and we can provide on the job training to do this role. Some health care or nurse assistant work would be ideal.
- Capability to manage challenging behaviors with patience and empathy
- Physical ability to lift and assist clients as required
For DAY shifts the following would be needed and/or could be taught on the job:
- Previous experience in senior care, patient care, or related fields is preferred
- Knowledge of home care procedures and techniques
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow care plans accurately
RELIABILITY is Key. Our small group of elderly ladies become attached and want to rely on you to be there. This is not a job for flakey people. If you think you might move soon... looking for something short term please don't apply. This is a position for someone who can be in it for the long term.

Important to know this is Independent Contract work so instead of employee you are independent contractor. There are NO medical or sick/PTO Benefit.
We do pay 1.5x pay for 5 major holidays (New year's day, Easter, July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas). Also for work after 6pm on New Year's evening. Pay is in cash at the end of every shift.

Health clearances (tuberculosis clearance and dept of health medical paperwork) and Fieldprint fingerprint background check are required.
First Aide/ CPR are required but we can help direct you to very affordable programs if you don't already have the certificate.
