Responsible for management and oversight of the complete production cycle, including daily and weekly production planning and scheduling to meet customer quality and time expectations most efficiently.
- Aids in developing, implementing, and achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to drive performance and profitability.
- Responsible for managing and creating an engaging environment for production employees and cross-functional partners. Oversees the department staffing needs to ensure adequate coverage and skill sets. Performs staff appraisals, coaching, and disciplinary action as required.
- Responsible for implementing an excellent preventive maintenance program to reduce the risk of equipment failure.
- Monitor all production floor personnel's KPI scorecards, such as set-up, run speed, quality, downtime, breaks, etc.
- Develop a high-energy "hustle" culture on the production floor—responsiveness to the press alarms and troubleshooting press issues.
- Ensures the production team properly follows work instructions, quality procedures, and safety policies.
- Utilizes the corrective action process to establish root causes and addresses issues by implementing and communicating disciplinary action.
- Communicate effectively with other departments and Team Leaders to ensure a cohesive approach to Company challenges and issues.
- Attend and participate in daily/weekly staff meetings.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Works in a manufacturing environment and requires wearing hearing, foot, and/or other personal protective equipment while performing duties in a manufacturing setting. May continuously stand for an extended period and stoop and kneel frequently. May handle, feel, and reach for items in and around the press area; write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking, lifting, and/or moving up to 50 lbs. may be required. Vision: close vision, distance, and color vision to distinguish color variations, peripheral and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to loud. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Must be able to work overtime as required by workload and customer-mandated deadlines. An employee must meet the physical demands described above to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
