Duties:
- Assist nurses and other healthcare professionals in providing direct patient care
- Perform basic nursing procedures under the supervision of a registered nurse
- Help patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Assist with mobility and transfers of patients
- Collect specimens for testing and perform basic laboratory tests
- Monitor patients' condition and report any changes to the nursing staff
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
Skills:
- Proficient in using healthcare systems for documentation and patient care
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and protocols
- Strong patient care skills, including empathy, compassion, and attentiveness
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with nurses and other healthcare professionals
- Experience in acute care settings, nursing homes, pediatrics, or hospitals is preferred
- Familiarity with durable medical equipment (DME) and its proper use
- Understanding of medical records management and confidentiality
