Responsible for placing and processing new business, account development, and renewal retention as well as servicing assigned accounts.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
- Review and order renewals according to agency procedures. Investigate company non-renewals and coordinate with insured and Producer(s) to remarket.
- Prepare proposals and applications, submit to insureds and carriers (or marketing department); follow up to ensure timely responses.
- Assist clients in making appropriate coverage changes; inform and educate clients about coverages, exclusions, exposures, and audits; document electronic file accordingly.
- Provide technical support to Producer(s) to include survey policy coverages and identify cross-selling and upgrading opportunities.
- Prepare quotations, coverage summaries/comparisons, proposals, and recommendations needed to ensure clients/prospects understanding of coverages.
- Renew and remarket accounts as needed in conjunction with Producer(s) and agency standards.
- Assist in telemarketing efforts to generate new business.
- Prompt and reliable attendance required.
- Receive claim information from insured, set up claim report, and submit to claims department or, as directed, process claim directly.
- Request checks for disbursements.
- Input application into Agency Management software.
- Check and validate policies.
- Validate renewals and endorsements.
- Outline proposals and endorsements.
- Handle unit accounting functions.
- Risk Management approach to fulfilling clients' needs.
- WORKING CONDITIONS
- Standing and/or sitting for prolonged period of time-up to 8 hours or more per day.
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
- Must be able to position self to maintain computer, and related equipment, including under the desks.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with customers who have inquiries about their account. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Frequently lifting up to 20 lbs, occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Education/Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework a plus! Complete knowledge of insurance practices and procedures of the agency and industry; minimum of six years experience with at least five in property and casualty. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Licensure/Certification: Current Missouri or Illinois Producer’s license required; CIC, CPCU, or CISR completed or in process a plus.
Personal Characteristics: Excellent prioritization and organizational skills; analytical; well organized; friendly, positive attitude with a willingness to help others; excellent verbal and written skills; professional telephone manner; ability to establish effective relationships with staff and clients; ability to work on highly detailed work under pressure and time constraints.
