Job Summary:
The Production Expediter is responsible for utilizing pick lists in MRP system to pull material onto production jobs. This involves finding and physically kitting material in the warehouse and bringing material to the production employees. Moving jobs with materials to different operations upon completion is also a requirement. They will be tracking where materials and jobs are in the production cycle. When jobs are finished, they will bring to the warehouse and help complete the job in MRP system. When the material is short on a job, the expediter is responsible for obtaining additional material from the warehouse.
Essential Job Duties:
- Utilizes schedules to pull material for production jobs in order of requirements.
- Bills of Material and pick lists show what material is required for each job.
- Understanding the warehouse and its procedures ensuring material is pulled accurately.
- Picking material and completing jobs.
- When shortages are not found in the warehouse, need to cycle count and/or communicate with Planners or Supply Chain to get on order with suppliers.
- Communicates closely with Production Planners to ensure the proper flow of material and WIP in the factory.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to handle changing priorities.
- Able to work in a warehouse/production environment.
- Excellent communication skills with all employees.
Experience with:
- Microsoft Excel or Access.
- Bills of Materials
- Manufacturing Processes
- Manufacturing Software (ERP systems)
- High school diploma and/or work experience.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: Up to $22.00 per hour
