The Executive Director, Integrated Insights, ASCVD is a key leader of our growth agenda, delivering clarity on current and future market opportunities, helping to build effective solutions and launch plans based on strong insights and analytics, and measuring and improving in-market performance of major product launches. This role leverages experience and knowledge from past launches to evaluate opportunities through the perspectives of the market, consumers, the product area, the company, and customers. This Executive Director builds strong relationships across the US cross-functional teams to drive the latest customer and consumer insights that create growth opportunities.
This Executive Director possesses a high level of skill for identifying and evaluating new consumer needs and commercial opportunities based upon analytics and market insights. They have a hands-on capability to use a range of syndicated/proprietary data systems, segmentation, positioning/brand tools, advanced analytics, and custom, traditional, digital, emerging research methodologies to build new product solutions and direct effective launch plans. This role will find new data sources and deliver creative research solutions on accelerated timelines to support rapid evaluation of market opportunities while ensuring that projects adhere to sound principles and meaningful outcomes. This role informs relevant assumptions and provides guidance for new product forecasts that impact the financial goals and budgets of product launches. They can manage multiple active workstreams and synthesize large amounts of information into clear narratives that drive alignment and lead to action.
This role reports to the Vice President, Integrated Insights within the Data, Insights & Analytics team, and works closely with the leadership of ASCVD.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Direct a team of analysts and market researchers to support ASCVD.
- Engage with the leadership of ASCVD to align on priorities and deliver insights and analyses in support of Novartis growth initiatives.
- Partner with Vice President, Integrated Insights, members of the Integrated Insights Team, Vice President of Customer Engagement & Enterprise Analytics, and Executive Director of DIA Capabilities to develop, share and communicate insights and analytics outcome
- Commercial Analytics – develop and deliver data-driven models to evaluate innovation portfolio and product performance, with quantification of key drivers of success and/or variances to plan.
- Market Research – support ASCVD team to provide market, customer and consumer/patient insights during development, launch and in-market commercialization.
- Market Research – effectively develop and apply research for segmentation (customer/patient), brand positioning, advertising campaign development, claims assessment, brand equity monitoring, and tracking consumer sentiment.
- Market Research – develop and implement effective research solutions that generate meaningful insights and outcomes with shorter lead time.
- Competitive Intelligence – lead and oversee competitive intelligence work and support product team on life cycle management
- Forecasting – work with forecasting CoE to develop product-level forecasts to establish financial goals and targets; monitor, refine and report on key drivers of forecast delivery for ASCVD
- Field Performance Drivers – apply market data to monitor FF productivity; identify root cause of any performance issues and highlight areas of opportunity.
- Address ad hoc business requests by connecting with the Integrated Insights, Enterprise Analytics team, and other relevant partners to create fact-based, aligned summaries and recommendations.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $233,600.00 and $350,400.00 per year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/24 through 12/31/24, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
What will you bring to the role?
- Bachelor's degree in related field is required; Master of Science and/or MBA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Analytics and Insights focused roles supporting Commercial/Sales/Brand/Product organizations
- Direct people management experience in Analytics & Insights organization required
- Therapeutic Launch experience within an Insights and Analytics organization is required
- Deep experience in consumer insights, including an application of behavioral and psychological research methodologies.
- Deep data knowledge and innovative data strategy capability especially for buy-and-bill product
- Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and team orientation
- Cardiovascular Therapeutic Area and ASCVD disease experience preferred.
- Proven teamwork, collaboration, and people management skills
- Works effectively across functions as a team player to seamlessly help to achieve common goals without hierarchy, politics, or self-interest
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, multifunctional team environment
- Strong organization skills, detail-oriented and customer-focused
