Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our boutique family law firm based out of our Ventura County office . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal research, document management systems, and possess knowledge in family law.
Responsibilities:
- Working knowledge of family law procedures;
- Ability to meet deadlines under pressure while multi-tasking;
- Excellent writing and communication skills;
- Ability to prioritize, organize and manage steady work load;
- Detail oriented and very proficient with computer products and software;
- Assist attorneys in preparation for hearings and trials;
- Assist attorneys in preparing pleadings, letters, forms, etc.;
- As directed, draft pleadings, notices, declarations, disclosures, subpoenas and judicial council forms;
- Provide support to attorney through all phases of cases from intake to trial;
- Coordinate redaction of confidential information from documents for production to opposing parties;
- Coordinate preparation of trial documents including, but not limited to, trial binders, witness lists, exhibit list, motions, etc.;
- Manage and maintain firm calendar regarding important due dates;
- Manage case flow including monitoring tasks assigned and completed by attorneys;
- Participate at Case Review;
- Open and maintain files in accordance with the Firm’s paperless policy;
- Review incoming mail and calendar hearings, depositions, mediations, due dates, and other case related dates;
- Schedule court reporters, videographers, meeting, conference calls, CourtCall appearances, etc. as directed;
- Check docket for upcoming hearings and compare docket to file when substituting in on existing cases;
- Filing of emails, correspondence, pleadings, documents, etc. in accordance with the firm’s paperless policy;
- Organization of documents produced by client, productions, etc. (breaking-apart/bates-stamping);
- As directed, prepare discovery shells;
- As directed, obtain real property information from client and run property profiles;
- As directed, attend business development and networking functions with firm leadership and solo; and
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Paralegal experience
- Strong computer skills
- Proficiency in MyCase
- Excellent client services and communication skills
- Demonstrated writing skills
- Familiarity with family law and related legal procedures
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
