Key Responsibilities:
- Visual Acuity Testing:
- Perform precise visual acuity assessments to evaluate the patient's clarity of vision at various distances.
- Intraocular Pressure (IOP) Check:
- Conduct intraocular pressure measurements using tonometry techniques to assess the risk of glaucoma and other eye conditions.
- Dilation Drops Administration:
- Administer dilation drops to facilitate a comprehensive examination of the retina and optic nerve.
- Chief Complaint Evaluation:
- Interview patients to gather information on their chief complaints, documenting symptoms and relevant details for the physician's assessment.
- Surgery History Documentation:
- Record and maintain accurate surgical histories of patients, ensuring comprehensive documentation of previous eye procedures.
- Past Medical History Assessment:
- Collect and document detailed past medical histories, focusing on relevant eye conditions and systemic health that may impact ocular health.
- Medication List Compilation:
- Compile a comprehensive list of current medications, including eye drops and systemic medications, to assist the physician in understanding the patient's overall health.
- Assist in Specialized Procedures:
- Collaborate with the ophthalmologist in performing specialized diagnostic procedures such as fluorescein angiography, OCT scans, and visual field testing.
- Patient Education:
- Provide clear and concise instructions to patients regarding pre and post-operative care, as well as the proper usage of prescribed medications.
- Maintain Equipment and Supplies:
- Ensure the proper functioning and cleanliness of ophthalmic equipment and instruments, coordinating with the appropriate personnel for repairs and restocking supplies.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
