We are looking for motivated individuals who can function in a flexible, fast-paced production environment. This position is responsible for contributing to the day-to-day functions. The Converting Machine Operator is responsible for working within a team to operate the Evol, Goepfert, Mastercut, Turbox, or J & L machines in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner. The Operator will be able to recognize and correct or report any safety, quality or production issues utilizing the means and tools provided. This is a fully hands-on position with limited supervision that requires initiative and a self-driven approach. It is the expectation is to follow instructions and work constructively to ensure shipment deadlines are met and unloading is conducted within the guidelines given. This position is responsible for following all safety procedures and having the courage to intervene when observing unsafe practices by co-workers.
This position is also responsible for a high level of quality, productivity, and attention to detail. The operator will be in contact with the other operators, superintendents, shipping department, and with customer service.
Essential Job Function:

Understands and follows detailed work instructions as supplied for each individual production run with a supplied production order ticket with listed requirements including CAD instructions, print card specifications, packing instructions and multiple other details included with the work order relating to the specific job.

Properly conducts all scheduled quality checks at set-up, start-up and periodically throughout the production run. This includes checking and comparing product directly to the CAD instructions, print card instructions to completely conform to all requirements set forth as related to each specific job, specifications are supplied by York Container.
- Checks product thoroughly throughout the production run at required intervals, which have been pre-determined per York Container’s quality process.

Completes any purge sheets and quality checklists provided as well as quality sampling, paperwork, materials and data entry.

Performs simple mathematical problems.

Operates measuring equipment and understands basic measurement properties.

Acts as a team leader, which includes self-motivation and ability to motivate his/her team. Clearly communicates with and instructs other members of assigned work center.

Lifts and prepares any required tooling related to assigned equipment.

High School Diploma or equivalent; up to two (2) years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Good interpersonal & communication skills.

Highly organized, detail orientated and self-motivated individual (proactive attitude).

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, learn quickly and follow established processes.

Good mathematical skills - understand basic algebra, able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, volume etc. (add and subtract numbers, multiply and divide by 10’s and 100’s …).

Accurately read a measuring tape and ruler.

The ability to learn and follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team.

Possess a high degree of attention to detail and considerable dexterity in the control of company equipment and in the prevention of damage to materials and equipment.

Must satisfactorily complete and pass a Criminal Background Check in accordance with company policy.

Ability to define problems, collect data/facts (observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources) and draw reasonable conclusions.

Ability to deal with various situations.

Must pass a Drug and Substance Abuse screening in accordance with company policy.

Corrugated or converting industry is preferred, but not required.
Hourly rate $22-$25
Shift Premiums available
2nd Shift-2 pm to 10 pm
3rd Shift -10 pm to 6 am
