Job Description:
Foster Care Social Worker
Provides social work services to foster children and families. The Foster Care Social Worker provides foster care placement, planning and implementation for assigned client caseloads, and ensures that children achieve their placement goals in as expeditious a manner as possible.
Position responsibilities additionally include, but are not limited to:
- Assessing the needs of children and ensuring that the appropriate range of services are accessed, as needed.
- Provide support services to foster/resource families, including home visits, consultation, counseling, crisis intervention, referral and coordination of community services.
- Conducts studies, including home visits on prospective resource families to assess their potential suitability as resource/adoptive parents, and assists foster/resource parents in managing the children placed in their homes.
- Participate as a team member in Agency case review meetings.
