ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assists in managing provider schedules and coordinating patient flow.
- Coordinates pre- and post-surgical patient care. Functions may include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining data registries and Meaningful Use information.
- Medication reconciliation of complex medication lists.
- Perform patient healthcare screenings per evidence-based guidelines.
- Assists in the administration of local anesthesia.
- Assist surgeon in tray set up, sterile technique and during in-office surgery.
- Clean and bandage wounds.
- Obtain vital signs and weights.
- Perform point of care testing as directed by provider.
- Give injections and immunizations as directed by the provider.
- Input patient care orders after the Provider has noted them in patients progress note.
- Triage surgical cases and schedule appropriately.
- Review and triage surgical referrals.
- Coordinate referrals between offices.
- Obtain pathology from other offices.
- Refill patient medications according to protocol per provider approval and oversight.
- Oversight of clinical environment with attention to safety and infection control.
- Preload patient records prior to routine visit per provider protocol and oversight.
- Maintain sedative/medication inventory.
- Ensure pharmaceutical waste is appropriately disposed of.
- Maintain emergency equipment.
- Provide patient education
- Other duties as assigned by management team
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Unencumbered active registered nurse licensure in the state of Maine, BSN preferred.
- Current BLS required.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Proficient in Windows applications, electronic medical record preferred .
- Excellent professional judgment, phone skills and decision-making ability.
- Work collaboratively with all team members.
- Demonstrate initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and decision making.
- Demonstrate critical and reflective thinking.
SCHEDULE
Monday through Friday 40 hours per week with minimal weekend requirements
Pay range between $36.06 and $39.83 per hour depending on years of professional experience.
