The Transportation Manager will be responsible for management of the Transportation organization. The scope of the role includes direct oversight of our fleet operations/staff, 3rd Party relationships and process ownership for all aspects of transportation. Develops strategies and oversees the deployment of programs and initiatives to deliver organizational objectives aligned with our transportation services. Ensures the fleet operates within effective standards and all transportation regulation/compliance guidelines, including OSHA and DOT. Manages organization to meet or exceed all service, patient experience, quality, cost, and safety targets established by the organization and Florida Department of Transportation.
In addition, other responsibilities will include:
- Driving a continuous improvement culture through a well-defined strategy and implementing effective employee engagement practices aligned with our organizational strategy and objectives.
- Effective communication between drivers, dispatchers and patients while responding to their needs, requests, and concerns as appropriate; communicate directly with leaders regarding specific problems or trends to ensure quality of services.
- Manage various personnel functions including, but not limited to hiring, promotions, training and managing performance evaluations, coaching and corrective action, and scheduling.
- Proposes annual budget for patient transportation needs.
- Receive, record, and respond to feedback from patients and patients’ guests.
- Develops organizational safety protocol for all drivers to abide by.
- Conduct reviews with drivers to ensure they continually perform satisfactorily.
- Ensure all vehicles are safe, clean, and legally compliant.
- Arrange maintenance and repairs on vehicles, as necessary.
- Coach and discipline drivers, as necessary.
- Gather, record, and interpret data regarding patient transportation.
- Present analytics and financial reports to senior management and updates on transportation initiatives or needs.
- Ensures service level is maintained at 99% or above.
- Ensures that KPI's and Scorecards are maintained and communicated to appropriate levels.
- Collaborates with employees in the establishment of clear and concise development plans to ensure succession planning and the advancement of future leaders within the organization.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher.
- Fully bilingual in business English and Spanish.
- Prior experience in customer service or health care is highly desirable.
- Five or more years of management experience required as a transportation supervisor or
manager.
- Ability to hire and train employees.
- Compute literacy in Microsoft office and other transportation/logistic software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical thinker who can analyze and recommend transportation trends and needs
