Facility Maintenance Technician
Job Description: The warehouse facility maintenance technician performs preventative equipment maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and the necessary repairs needed to maintain warehouse facilities and equipment.
Some Job Responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing and repairing warehouse systems and equipment including: refrigeration system, plumbing system, warehouse lighting system, electric motors, receiving roll-up doors and fire protection systems.
- Providing “banana room” maintenance and repair as needed.
- Providing dock door and dock plates maintenance and repair as needed
- Providing fire pump maintenance and repair as needed.
- Providing warehouse floor repairs. Performs other duties as needed or assigned by management. Job Requirements:
- Must have basic understanding of electricity (single and multiphase 110, 220 and 480).
- Must have basic knowledge and experience of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), their repair and programming.
- Must be proficient at welding (stick or MIG).
- Must be able to diagnose problems with and the repair of refrigeration systems, plumbing, lighting, electric motors, roll-up doors and fire protection systems.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent document.
- Professional license/specialized training is a plus.
- Vocational technical school training is a plus. Ability to:
- Work in an environment where typical conditions include: very cold and very warm temperatures (from minus 20 degrees to 110 degrees), dust and dirt, exhaust fumes, loud noises, and strong cleaning chemicals (some ammonia based chemicals).
- Organize and plan ones daily work responsibilities.
- Communicate well, orally, and written with fellow team members.
- Work well with team members and supervisors, helping the team reach its goals and objectives.
- Use basic mathematical functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide and etc.)
- Problem solve, coming up with logical solutions to problems and then implementing them.
- Be flexible, adapting well to changes in personnel, work shifts, new warehouse procedures and work environment.
- Work independently with little supervision.
- Consistently provide a good work ethic and individual initiative.
- Read equipment repair manuals.
- Work safely near heavy equipment, tractor-trailers, and forklifts.
- Use office machines, computers and computer applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Communicate in both English and Spanish is strongly preferred. Qualities for Success Include:
