The Controller will be responsible for full-cycle accounting, which requires the ability to juggle several organizational tasks at once. The responsibilities include managing all aspects of the general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, as well as handling payroll information, credit card statements, and cash flow. The Controller must possess good communication skills, always be prepared, and organized, be an effective department leader, work well with team members, and be able to build and motivate a team. The Controller may also be called upon for various other miscellaneous duties.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts full cycle accounts receivables, including preparation of monthly invoices and maintaining customer and vendor records.
- Responsible for production of financial reports
- Oversees all employees involved in the accounting process, including A/R, A/P, inventory, and compliance.
- Formulating company budgets and ensuring their reporting and control systems fall within company parameters.
- Conducts accounts payables including purchase orders and vendor record maintenances.
- Manages bank reconciliations for depository accounts.
- Reconciles all balance sheet accounts; reviewing for input accuracy and preparing monthly reports and journal entries, as needed. § Prepares weekly payroll, monthly financial statements, and annual 1099’s.
- Administers the quarterly business and payroll taxes.
- Maintains required business documents.
- Assists with the annual budget and audit processes.
- Set up new vendors and maintenance.
- Reconciles vendor statements and discrepancies.
- Prepares and/or reviews all expense reports for accuracy and proper expense disclosure.
- Performs accounting requirements on construction projects.
- Performs other related duties as may be requested by the Chief Executive Officer.
REQUIREMENTS :
- QuickBooks Online experience required.
- NetSuite experience preferred.
- Strong numerical proficiency, organization, good problem-solving skills, and excellent use of logic.
- Proficient in accounting software (3 years minimum experience).
- Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- 3-5 years Controller experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
- Highly organized and meticulous.
- Able to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Thrives in a collaborative, group office environment.
- Ability to interface well with staff and external contacts of the companies.
