Coastal Calibration Laboratories is a provider of calibration services to the Life Sciences Industry. CCL performs calibrations in our Woburn, MA calibration laboratory, and at customer sites throughout New England. Types of calibrations include: temperature, pressure, humidity, mass, photometric, flow, electronic, torque and physical/dimensional.
It is impossible to know anything about an object unless you can accurately measure its properties. In a nutshell, this is what we do at CCL - we measure things. CCL is seeking a Calibration Field Engineer interested in working in a hands-on environment with all types of equipment, from R&D, to process manufacturing, to our calibration standards that are primary representations of the SI. This role is ideal for curious individuals who enjoy tinkering and understanding how things work. Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work to understand customer needs and requirements through effective communication;
- Develop strong customer relationships by providing exceptional customer service;
- Travel to customer sites to perform calibrations;
- Complete calibrations in a safe, timely, and accurate manner, following CCL and customer policies;
- Accurately document the calibration process and submit paperwork;
- Customize calibrations to fit customer needs;
- Troubleshoot equipment/systems;
- Help improve upon existing calibration processes to minimize errors and increase efficiency;
- Maintain calibration equipment and supplies; responsible for handling all equipment provided with care;
- Research new parts and machinery for improved operations;
- Responsible for effective time management.
Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting equipment or working in the electronics or automotive industry preferred.
- High school diploma required.
- 2 or 4 year college degree in a related technical field a plus.
- Technically and mechanically inclined with a passion for tinkering and figuring out how things work.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Self-motived and willing to learn on the job.
- Disciplined and hard working.
- Detail-orientated with excellent time management skills.
Travel:
- This role provides services to clients across New England, so candidate must be open to local travel.
- Must have valid MA driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must be comfortable driving in a city setting (i.e. Boston, Cambridge, etc.).
- Company vehicle will be provided.
Physical Requirements:
- This role requires the ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for long periods of time.
