Primary Purpose: To receive orders + payment from and give food + beverage to Farmers Union Coffee Shop Guests
Counter Service Position for Minnesota Farmers Union - Coffee Shop at the Minnesota State Fair! Thursday, August 22nd - Monday, September 2nd!
Exciting Opportunity to be a part of the Minnesota State Fair at the Minnesota Farmers Union Coffee Shop! Join us for this 13 Day employment opportunity! Top Pay PLUS $2/Hour incentive for working all shifts scheduled during the Great Minnesota Get Together!
Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year experience in the following areas:
1. Orders
· Greet and welcome guests upon arrival.
· Politely and professionally answer guests’ questions + requests.
· Communicate directly with Expo regarding guests’ orders.
· Enter guests’ orders when placed.
· Receive payment from guests.
· Keep the Orders station clean and organized before, during, and after shifts.
· Keep bills faced and tills organized before, during, and after shifts.
· Notify Service Shift Lead when tills need to be emptied out or when you need to cash in for smaller bills.
2. Barista
· Mix coffee drinks and pour limeades as ordered.
· Restock Barista station and coolers as needed and towards the end of your shift.
· Keep the Barista station + espresso machines clean and organized before, during, and after shifts.
· Weigh out + brew new batches of drip coffee and refill coffee dispensers as needed.
3. Expo
· Provide helpful, professional communication and response to requests from Orders.
· Ensure that food and beverages are not given to guests without being prepared to MFU’s expectations for quality + presentation.
· Pour frappes when ordered.
· Ensure that food and beverages are delivered where + to whom they need to go.
· Ensure that food and beverages are delivered to guests quickly, while still fresh and to the expected temperature.
· Keep the Expo stations clean and organized before, during, and after shifts.
· Brew new batches of coffee and refill coffee dispensers as needed.
4. Dishwashing
· Scrub and wash cooking + brewing equipment.
· Put kitchen + brewing equipment away when clean and dry.
· Notify Marshall or Shift Lead of chemical and equipment shortages.
· Keep the Dishwashing station clean and organized before, during, and after shifts.
· Periodically drain + refill the Dishwashing station basins.
5. Float
· Empty garbages.
· Refill guests’ drink stations (lids, straws, napkins, etc).
· Keep dining room and front service areas wiped down, clean, and free of garbage on the floor.
· Support servers, brewers, and cooks in the execution of their tasks as needs dictate.
· Request support in the performance of your tasks from servers, brewers, and cooks as needs dictate.

Pay: $14.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
