We currently have an opportunity for a compassionate Workforce Equity and DEI Specialist towork with the DEI Officer in implementing and advancing the agency’s DEI strategy. The Workforce Equity & DEI Specialist will be responsible for proactively developing actionable project plans and collaborating with others to execute related programs, events, trainings, and other initiatives to foster an inclusive workplace at AHRC Nassau and affiliated companies.
- Develop and facilitate DEI programs, projects, onboarding/orientation trainings, and events.
- Create and maintain internal communications and announcements for the DEI Office.
- Manage DEI-related investigations in parallel with the DEI Officer.
- Facilitate and coordinate visits at the DSP’s work locations to ensure and promote an equitable work environment.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Provide logistical support and guidance to employees needing access to ESL courses.
- Serve as a point of support to immigrant employees and/or new American employees.
- Provide logistical support to Employee Resource Groups.
- Maintain progress data and performance measurements related to DEI programs and events.
- Gather input from the Grant CoP Advisory Group on all stages of project design and development.
- Maintain frequent contact with all internal grant partners and keeps track of expenses.
- Assist in providing both training and ongoing technical assistance to 5 Regional Grant Teams based on the learning needs identified by the teams.
- Create DEI resources based on Grant CoP requests and needs.
- Assist in creating a website where DEI resources are housed and maintained, including recordings of trainings, a DEI toolkit, information about the Grant DEI CoP initiative, and other materials, and assist in maintaining and sustaining the website beyond DDPC funding.
We require:
- Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel independently to and from multiple work locations.
- Proficient data analytics skills strongly preferred.
