SUMMARY: The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of Nurse and Social Work Supports Coordinators and Case Assistant staff, providing regular consultation. In addition to training, evaluating, and motivating staff, the Clinical Supervisor will also support staff in maximizing internal systems, developing person-centered service plans, ensuring participant engagement, coordinating with community resources, and ensuring high levels of quality work and documentation at all times. Works with the Waiver Manager to determine service direction, implementation and enhancement, ensuring high levels of participant service. This position is responsible to act as a confidential representative of the Agency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Knowledge of Waiver Contract and assure compliance.
- Manage Supports Coordinators and Case Assistants with a vision towards maximum staff empowerment promoting internal problem-solving, innovation and a positive Agency culture.
- Provide oversight of the Supports Coordinators’ scheduling systems and assessment process.
- Assure staff efforts promote maximum self-sufficiency of participants served including the principles of person-centered planning and thinking.
- Direct plans for the training of new staff and sufficient mentoring to afford maximum self-sufficiency.
- Enhancing operations by ensuring sufficient staffing and adequate access to services.
- Developing and ensuring compliance with procedures and policies.
- Assist individual Supports Coordinators in the implementation of Person-Centered Service Plans, including services requiring prior authorization and complex case issues.
- Seek patterns of best practice of service utilization, assisting Supports Coordinators and families in improved care plan design and outcomes.
- Assist with home visits as required.
- Conduct interdisciplinary meetings with staff.
- Work with Waiver Manager and Special Projects/Training Manager in program administration.
- Represent the Agency at state level administrative tribunals as needed.
- Participate in Agency Management Team as needed.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or Chief Executive Officer consistent with the employee’s skill level

Education and/or Experience:
- Registered Nurse, Licensed in the State of Michigan. Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred; OR Social Worker, Licensed in the State of Michigan, MSW preferred;
- Minimum 3 years experience in gerontology field.
- Demonstrated skill and ability to supervise Registered Nurses and Social Workers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products
