JOB TITLE: Clinical Medical Assistant
REPORTS TO: Director of Clinical Services
POSITION SUMMARY: A surgical/medical/clinical assistant who is responsible for providing practice management support, as well as assisting in direct patient care. Instruct patients regarding test results and treatment, according to established clinic guidelines. Assists physicians according to established clinic guidelines.
HOURS: Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm w/ an every other weekend rotation. When working a weekend you will have scheduled time off during the week.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist clinical team during procedures
- Preparation of sterile area and room setup before procedure including the planning and ordering of all supplies needed.
- Performs daily pre-cleaning and sterilization of equipment and supplies.
- Assists the clinical team during procedures as directed by charge nurse or physician.
- Helps clinical team to maintain patient safety through monitoring sterile technique during draping and surgical procedures.
- Maintains accountability for needles, sponges, and instruments.
- Set up and prepare charts prior to appointment and update patient information
- Chaperone physician while performing exams
- Assists with the management of patient calls to the center, e.g., take direct patient calls regarding test results and treatments, available to support staff and supervisors as a clinical resource person, triage calls to appropriate physician, return patient calls in a timely manner.
- Provides necessary patient instructions as outlined in standing physician’s orders.
- Review any tests that need to be completed before cycle, Review medications for cycle/ injection teaching or schedule a class. Submit booking sheet to insurance department when all tests have been completed.
- Presents a warm, supportive manner to patient and family.
- Attends department meetings and participates on committees as requested.
- Maintains a collaborative working relationship with all levels of staff.
- Complies with current OSHA and HIPAA regulations.

Minimal Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalency
Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant or OR Technician Program
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.22 - $22.13 per hour
