The Senior Engineer in our Water Resources Division is responsible for the leadership, coordination and technical design at all levels during planning, design, and implementation of engineering projects to ensure project completion in an efficient manner. This position plays an integral role in the overall success of engineering projects and ensures a positive relationship with clients and team members in a growing company environment.
As Senior Engineer in the Water Resources Division, you will work directly with the Director of Water Resources to lead the team through all phases of a project from project planning to permitting and design. Senior Engineer shall work directly with the Director of Water Resources Group to manage staff, projects, clients and budgets. Senior Engineer is engaged in project development, responsible for directing large-scale multidisciplinary projects and/or medium-sized projects featuring a high degree of technical complexity. Senior Engineer is a leader who develops and manages the technical direction and professional design standards of the discipline and serves as a resource and mentor to a growing team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Professional degree in Civil, Environmental Engineering or closely related field and have a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience, with at least two (2) served in a Project Manager role or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Professional Engineering License is required (with the ability to obtain a NY & VT license within 1 yr.)

- Previous leadership experience, having worked to identify thoughtful solutions to complicated design problems

- Experience in managing clients, projects, and engineers/CAD operators with professional demeanor.
- Expertise of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, drawings, and construction specifications.
- Progressive leadership roles in managing multiple projects.
- Thorough understanding of drinking water treatment, drinking water distribution systems, wastewater collection and wastewater treatment systems with significant experience in analysis, utility design, and respective federal and state regulations and design guidelines such as Ten State Standards.
- Experience with New York state agencies and their respective design criteria/guidelines.
- Experience with federal and state funding programs for municipal clients is a plus
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques and the coordination of people and resources.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD with Civil 3D is a plus.
- Extremely organized and detail oriented, with the ability to maintain accuracy while handling multiple requests in a growing company environment.
- Highly analytical with the ability to calculate complex mathematical equations.
- You have a thorough understanding of current trends and areas of growth within the AECindustry
- Development/review Owner/Engineer Professional Service Contracts. Experience/familiarity with EJCDC Documents is a plus.
