Printpack is seeking a qualified candidate to fill an Automation and Reliability Engineer position. The position will be located in the Grand Prairie Converting location and will report to the Plant Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Focus on the overall plant production system and bridge the gap between production, maintenance, process engineering, quality, and IT within the plant and to corporate.
Assist maintenance with breakdowns to reduce downtime.
Learn how to maintain and troubleshoot plant equipment.
Continuous improvement: Drive process and control system improvements. Work closely with Corporate Engineering and equipment vendors (OEMs) to resolve problems and implement changes as required.
In conjunction with the plant Process Engineer, use, maintain and improve upon the Realtime Process Monitoring and data collection system (RPM) in order to support our process control initiative.
Ensure that all system documentation and software is properly maintained and archived according to Corporate Engineering standards.
Provide training and mentoring to plant maintenance.
Follow Engineering electrical control and programming standards as appropriate.
Project work aimed at:
Improving quality and reliability and reducing waste
Productivity improvement through equipment, controls, and design enhancements
Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred, but will consider candidates with significant industry experience
3-5 years job related experience
Skills Required:
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Broad electromechanical skills and experience.
Proficient with PLCs, AC/DC motors, drives, robotics, sensors, software and control systems in general
Siemens and Allen Bradley automation software and hardware experience. Eager to learn new software platforms.
Knowledge of continuous improvement methodology: Statistical process control, DMAIC process (Six Sigma), and/or willingness/aptitude to learn.
Collaborative project management from design through installation
