What You’ll Do:
The Collections Specialist manages a high volume of inbound and outbound calls, reaching out to customers regarding their delinquent account status and initiating appropriate action to recover outstanding balances. The Collections Specialist is responsible for understanding customer financial circumstances to effectively negotiate profitable payment arrangements on past-due accounts to achieve individual goals and performance objectives.
- Engage in respectful and persuasive conversations with customers, utilizing effective negotiation techniques to overcome customer objections, reach profitable payment arrangements, and encourage payment of overdue loan accounts.
- Meet and exceed individual and team performance metrics; including collection quotas, number of calls, and on-call time.
- Provide customers with information and guidance regarding their outstanding balance, payment options, and settlement procedures while addressing all questions and concerns to encourage timely debt payment.
- Utilize active listening skills, displaying empathy and understanding while dealing with debtors in various financial situations to build rapport and drive customer retention to second chance loan programs.
- Prioritize fluctuating inbound and outbound call volumes, complete assigned call queues, schedule payment arrangements and accurately notate customer accounts, ensuring payment arrangements are submitted promptly.
- Maintain a professional demeanor at all times and provide every customer with an exceptional experience throughout the entire collections process, adhering to all company processes, procedures, and guidelines.
- Leverage multi-tasking skills to ensure a high level of productivity throughout the day.
- Ensure strong attention to detail when entering customer data with a high level of accuracy and maintain comprehensive records of relevant changes in their customer account.
- Continuously seek ways to enhance debt recovery processes and customer experience, sharing best practices and contributing to a positive and cohesive team environment.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications*

- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required; Associate’s degree in Communication, Business, or related field preferred.
- Prior experience in debt collections and/or a quota driven position within a call center environment is strongly preferred.
- Prior work experience as a collections specialist, collections agent, debt recovery specialist, debt collector, debt collections agent etc. is strongly preffered.
- A positive attitude, resilience, and ability to handle rejection gracefully.
- Results-oriented and target-driven mindset with a willingness to go the extra mile to achieve collections quotas.
- Adaptability to evolving negotiation techniques, strategies, and product offerings.
- Exhibits a can-do attitude, is coachable, and motivated to achieve quotas.
- Extremely reliable and dependable.
- Excellent negotiation skills and strong comfortability with persistence.
- Strong ability to remain professional in escalated customer situations.
- Strong ability to describe and explain products and services to consumers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and multitasking skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Proficient in Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you will be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The starting hourly rate for this job is $20.00 per hour.
