Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental X-rays
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Perform dental charting and documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic
- Assist with medical coding and billing for dental procedures
- Conduct patient assessments and record medical history
- Maintain and update patient records, including medical documentation and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, dentists, and other dental staff
- Strong attention to detail for accurate documentation and record keeping
- Proficiency in using EHR systems such as Epic for medical records management
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Familiarity with medical coding practices for dental billing purposes
- Ability to take and develop dental X-rays
- Experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus
