Join the Opportunity House team and make a difference in the lives of others! Caring and compassionate individuals are needed to work with clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential settings. All residential group homes are located in DeKalb or Sycamore, IL.
Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) at Opportunity House are invaluable to our mission to help people with developmental disabilities work, live in homes of their choice, and enjoy community life. DSP duties include but are not limited to:
· Teaching and supporting daily living skills; meal preparation, housekeeping, money management, etc.
· Assisting with cooking and cleaning; maintain a safe and healthy home environment that encourages learning.
· Assisting with personal care and hygiene of clients.
· Supervising in-home and out-of-home activities; including client transportation, which may include driving company cars, vans, and buses.
Opportunity House will provide you with all the necessary training to succeed as a Direct Support Professional! DSP training is provided online and is flexible and paid! Once you successfully complete DSP training, you will be added to the Illinois Healthcare Workers Registry as a DSP as well!
Requirements:
· Must be 18 year or older.
· High school diploma or GED.
· Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
· Personal vehicle to use on company business if needed.
· Must be able to pass required background checks.
