The Bearing Pack Builder’s primary responsibility is the assembly of downhole drilling tools (mud motors). This includes maintaining accurate service records and recording relevant data compliant with Total Directional standard operating procedures. Experienced Bearing Pack Builders should have a working understanding of motor shop equipment, including lathes, vices, tooling, gauges, calipers, etc. Must be willing and able to help troubleshoot shop equipment to prevent downtime. Bearing Pack Builders should be familiar with the components and service of downhole drilling motors (mud motors). Bearing Pack Builders must be able to follow technical service manuals and written or verbal work instructions. This person will need to comply with all safety and company policies, be able to communicate effectively with other technicians, and efficiently work in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge Needed:
- Experience using motor shop equipment for the assembly of mud motor bearing packs
- Working understanding of downhole drilling motors, components, and service process
- Ability to read and follow written work instructions and operating procedures
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment
- Knowledge of safety principles and ability to identify unsafe work environments
- Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Mechanically inclined
- Must have transportation
Pay for this position depends on experience.
