Position: Line Cook

Location: Balmoral Crystal Clear Lagoon & Beach Club, Houston (NE Houston, 8/Woodland Hills)
FULL/PART-TIME & SEASONAL AVAILABLE
We are looking for an experienced line cook to provide quick service and scratch food items on a rotating menu at the Blue Lagoon Bar & Grill. A good line cook will be able to work in stressful situations, tight quarters, and is self-motivated.
Job Description:
This position requires acute attention to details, a sense of urgency, extreme empathy, human relations skills, excellent judgement, superior service and safety standards, and a desire to set new standards by which others judge themselves. The position will assist in various duties with the restaurant, including prep work, opening/closing line duties, weekly cleaning and any other tasks given by the Manager.
***This position requires outdoor, weekend and holiday workdays***
ALL STAFF WITHIN THE ORGANIZATION ARE REQUIRED TO KNOW, FOLLOW AND UPHOLD ALL GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
- Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks
- Plating prepared foods based on senior chef’s guidance
- Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
- Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts
- Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
- Be extremely familiar with the established Emergency Action Plan and perform appropriate skills and procedures under this plan.
- Maintain a polished, 5-Star, well-groomed appearance while on duty in full uniform as outlined by general manager.
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations
- Directly report to BLUE LAGOON BAR & GRILL GM/AGM
Requirements
- At least one year of cooking experience
- Excellent kitchen administration knowledge and ability to work as part of a team
- Strong organization and active listening skills
- High volume experience preferred
- The ability to work on your feet for most of the day and lift 30 pounds at a time
- Exceptional time management skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Knowledge of a second language is a plus
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Food Handlers Certification

Pay
Starting at $15.00 per hour
