Summary:
This role will support the Quality Department at both our Andover HIP and Andover Product Fabrication sites, in all areas as listed in essential job functions, working closely with Quality Manager.
Major Responsibilities:
- Identifying and recording present or potential conditions that would have a detrimental effect on the product, process, or quality system initiating corrective or preventive action procedures to address these conditions, and verifying the effectiveness of corrective actions. This may include controlling or stopping further processing of the product until corrective action has been satisfactorily implemented.
- Coordinating the interdepartmental efforts required to comply with quality assurance requirements.
- Identifying quality training needs and taking steps to ensure training is provided.
- Reporting on the performance of the quality system to management for review and as a basis for improvement of the quality system.
- Communicating to all levels on the status of the quality management system.
- Assist in general quality activities including control of quality records, monitoring quality objectives at all levels, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining the BMS, evaluation/disposition of non-conformances, audits (on-site and internal), implementation, and support of the navigator operating system.
- Monitor and maintain instruments including instrument recall, instrument calibration, monitor and maintain process control testing, temperature uniformity surveys, quench effectiveness, monthly mechanical testing, surface contamination test, carb/de-carb test, IGA and IGO test, burnouts, and leak ups.
- Monitor and maintain outside processing including evaluation of suppliers, generating purchase orders, reviewing certifications of conformances and reviewing test reports.
- Support in process and final inspection processes, receiving inspection, contract review, braze and heat treat, temper inspection, generate and sign certifications.
We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
- This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
- Education - Must possess basic metallurgical knowledge obtained through formal university or college training or a combination of training and experience. Engineering degree preferred.
- Three years experience in Quality Control and practical knowledge of commercial heat treatment of steel, aluminum, titanium, nickel, brass, copper, etc. desired.
- Must be capable of writing general procedures for heat treatment of specific alloys, in accordance with customer needs.
- Must be capable of making written recommendations for improving Quality Systems and Procedures.
- The desired candidate will have or be willing to obtain a Six Sigma Green Belt.
- The desired candidate will be thoroughly familiar with commercial, aircraft, and aerospace specifications, ASME, and military specification codes as required.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required.
- Must be able to read/interpret blueprints/specifications, and be detail-oriented to meet deadlines.
