SALARY: $14.96 - 17.61/hr

JOB SUMMARY: The Activities/Office Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the effective operation of the activities and the administration department at Kuna High School. This position involves a wide range of administrative duties, including event planning, team management, budget oversight, record keeping, and communications. The Activities/Office Assistant works closely with coaches, athletes, parents, school administrators, and community members to ensure the success and safety of all activities at KHS.
QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Articulate and able to communicate effectively with persons within and outside of the school district.

A high degree of proficiency in Google applications, word processing, spreadsheets, and database management. Arbiter, Schooldude, Power School, is a plus.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform such school-related duties as assigned by the Activities Director below and any additional duties assigned by the high school administration team.

Event Coordination: Coordinate the scheduling, logistics, and administration of athletic events, including games, meets, tournaments, and practices. This includes arranging transportation, securing venues, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Team Support: Assist coaches with team management tasks, such as organizing practice times, coordinating team travel, and maintaining accurate rosters and player information.

Budget Management: Assist in managing the activities department budget, including monitoring expenditures, fundraising, processing invoices, and preparing financial reports. Work collaboratively with the Activities Director to develop annual budgets and allocate funds appropriately.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of team rosters, game schedules, competition results, and athlete participation. Ensure that all required paperwork, such as medical forms and eligibility documents, is completed and filed appropriately. Completion of IHSAA All-Academic and School’s of Excellence forms.

Communications: Serve as the primary point of contact for athletics-related inquiries from students, parents, coaches, and school staff. Disseminate information about upcoming events, schedule changes, and policy updates through various communication channels.

Compliance: Assist the Activities Director in ensuring that all athletic programs comply with relevant rules, regulations, and policies established by governing bodies, such as state athletic associations and the school district. Stay informed about changes to regulations and update policies and procedures accordingly.

Equipment and Facilities: Assist Activities Director in the procurement, maintenance, and inventory of athletic equipment and facilities. Work closely with coaches and facilities staff to ensure that equipment is in good condition and facilities are safe and accessible.

Safety and Risk Management: Assist in Implementing safety protocols and procedures to minimize the risk of injury during athletic activities. Ensure that appropriate insurance coverage is in place and that all coaches and staff are trained in emergency procedures.

Community Engagement: Assist the high school administrators in building positive relationships with the broader community to promote support for the athletics program. Attend community events, engage with local media, and collaborate with community organizations to enhance the visibility and impact of athletics at [Name of High School].
