Overview:
Warehouse leads oversee the supply chain process in distribution centers, liaise with customers and suppliers, manage and supervise employees and their performance, ensure that safety regulations and inventory standards are met.
Responsibilities:
- Always follow Triple-S safe methods of work , and immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
- Safely and properly move steel to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, by hand, forklift, overhead crane or other equipment. Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift material and guide loads; to climb onto vehicles to tie down and release material being loaded. This is continuous daily activity.
- Morning walk through the warehouse to ensure material is safe on racks and exit doors are not blocked, and that gates and warehouse doors are open.
- Evening walk through to ensure all gates/doors are closed and locked and ensure alarm is set
- Help check and pull will calls and deliver orders.
- Maintain equipment daily inspections.
- Review and receive all incoming transfers and purchase orders
- Check all orders going out for accuracy
- Create the shipping log for the next day and ensure trucks are loaded the night before
- Create the bill of ladings for drivers before delivery
- Retrieve and attach MTR’s to orders
- Report any shortages in personnel and find a solution to ensure coverage to take care of customers
- Report incidents with drivers to upper management
- Report inventory discrepancies and do a cycle count of like items to find the error.
- Conduct morning safety topic talk
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- 2-4 years of prior warehouse supervisory experience, preferably with a metals, fabrication or manufacturing background.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
- Ability to correctly read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
- Ability to safely meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company.
- Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities independent of direct supervision; work alone and in a team environment.
- Ability to develop a good working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques and procedures.
- Ability to maintain ongoing inter-department communications related to routing, safety, and customer relations.
- Demonstrate basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- May be required to demonstrate strong customer relations skills
- Demonstrate basic Microsoft office data entry
