Reports to: Food and Beverage Director
Location: Bartley Cavanaugh Golf Course
Rate of Pay: $50,000.00 + Commissions
FLSA Status: hourly, non-exempt
Position Overview
Morton Golf is looking for a dynamic and experienced Catering and Event Sales Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for promoting and selling our catering services and event spaces to both new and existing clients. Your primary goal will be to maximize revenue opportunities by securing bookings for a wide range of events, including corporate functions, weddings, tournament catering, and private parties. This position requires a combination of sales acumen, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to attract and retain clients.
- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and target markets.
- Prepare and present sales proposals and contracts to clients, ensuring all details are accurate and tailored to their needs.
- Conduct site visits with potential clients, showcasing our facilities and catering options to highlight the unique advantages of our venue.
- Work closely with the catering and event planning teams to ensure seamless execution of events, from initial inquiry through to the event day.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and client communications in the Customer Relations Management (CRM) system.
- Achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
- Attend networking events, trade shows, and other industry events to build relationships and promote our services.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly to inquiries and resolving any issues that arise to ensure client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- 2 – 4 years of experience in sales, preferably in the hospitality, catering, or events industry.
- A bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field is preferred.
- Must have a proven track record in Sales. Strong understanding of sales techniques and principles required.
- Must have previous experience selling wedding venues.
- Previous experience with catering software is a plus, such as Planning Pod, Caterease, or others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by client meetings and events.
- Proficiency in Customer Relations Management (CRM) software and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
