My Ride to work is looking for a Lead Maintenance Mechanic to join our family in Reno, Nevada! Here, you’ll perform a supervisory role with mechanics on-site, ensuring preventative maintenance and repairs are completed at all levels on the best maintained fleet of vehicles in the industry. Utilizing your leadership abilities, you’ll manage a team of mechanics to ensure the proper maintenance and repairs of diesel engines and equipment are done in a safe manner.
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, you will perform highly skilled tasks to minimize downtime and ensure a positive experience to our valued customers.

- Oversees a team of diesel mechanics and assigns tasks to ensure that work is completed efficiently and effectively. Provides guidance, training and support to mechanics while monitoring their performance
- Responsible for performing complex repairs and diagnostics on diesel engines and related systems; serving as a subject matter expert, assisting other mechanics with troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Ensures that repairs and maintenance tasks meet quality standards and complies with industry regulation.
- Able to conduct inspections, review completed work and provide feedback to mechanics to maintain high levels of quality service
- Responsible for training new hires, conducting skills development and keeping the team up-to-date on the latest technologies and best practices in diesel engine maintenance and repair
- Manage inventory, order parts and supplies while maintaining stock levels to ensure that the yard has the necessary resources to complete repairs in a timely manner
- May interact with our customers to discuss repairs, provide estimates and answer technical questions. Would serve as a liaison between customers and be involved in resolving concerns and complaints
- Responsible for ensuring that safety protocols are followed at the yard. Will enforce safety procedures, provide safety training to tam members and maintain a safe working environment for all employees
- Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance tasks and team performance. May also be required to generate reports on key performance indicators, work orders and inventory levels to track yard operation

- Must be 18yrs or older
- CDL Class B or willing to acquire one
- Working Coach bus experience a plus
- Ability to pass a DOT physical
- Successful completion of background check
- Willing to work varied schedules including weekends and holidays
- Able to work autonomously and in a team environment
- At least 3yrs experience on diesel engines required
- Working knowledge of the following systems is preferred: HVAC, engine (Cummins/Detroit), transmission, air brake systems, steering/suspension and electrical
- Diagnostic ability both electrical and mechanical
- Provide your own tools
- Must have dependable transportation
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on occasion
