As a Project Accountant, you’ll have responsibility for overseeing accounting procedures, day-to-day activities, job cost data, budgets, forecasts, and the production of financial statements for our clients. You will regularly collaborate with other team members to produce comprehensive solutions and results.
Our Project Accountant builds deep construction industry knowledge by gaining an overview of multiple construction businesses. We provide extensive training on industry-leading best practices and opportunities for advancement.
An effective Project Accountant will ensure all valued deliverables are prepared accurately, and all timelines are met. The goal is to contribute to the decision-making process of our client's management to improve their performance.
Responsibilities
- Implement and oversee daily accounting procedures for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Payroll, and Job Cost.
- On-boarding of new vendor and subcontractors.
- Review approved subcontractor billing for accuracy
- Manage subcontractor compliance with terms and conditions of the contract, including items such as bonds, insurance, waivers, billing accuracy, etc.
- Confirm contract status for new subcontractor billing
- Review and maintain accurate Project Cost Report
- Generate and accurately process monthly General Construction G702/703 requisition billing in a timely manner
Investigate any un-billed project costs
- Maintain financial project files
- Assist in financial aspects of project close-out
- Additional assignments upon
request of accounting supervisors
- Be the conduit between the Premier Keyway accounting, operational teams at Mid-Continent Hospitality and Outside Client relations.
- Ensure accounting tasks are completed on time and accurately
- Explain the financial and operational data to stakeholders

- Interact and communicate with external entities such as insurance carriers, bankers, bonding companies, and CPA's
Manage and collaborate with Project Managers and PKY/MCH resources
Requirements
- Solid knowledge of basic and advanced accounting and financial principles
- Clear understanding of contract types (Construction Manager as Agent, Guaranteed Maximum Price GMP), Lump Sum, Cost Plus)
- Able to manage multiple projects and multiple tasks
- Responsive and committed to providing exceptional client service
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
- Willingness to learn and work towards industry certifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
- Proficient in Sage Intacct Construction Software suite.
- Experience with Procore Construction software is a plus
- Drivers license and vehicle
- BS/BA in accounting, finance, or similar field
