POSITION SUMMARY:
Mountain Springs Recovery is seeking a Groundskeeper that would ensure the physical aspects of the community are maintained and standards are met regarding the grounds, amenities, and overall curb appeal.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Mowing lawns, trimming hedges, watering plants
- Installing sprinklers and irrigation systems
- Preparing outdoor areas for various weather conditions by weatherproofing, covering outdoor furniture with tarps, tying down unsecured items, etc.
- Maintaining gardens and lawns, including planting, fertilizing, weeding, soil conditioning, mulching, and applying pesticides
- Operating and maintaining garden and landscaping equipment
- Assists Facilities Manager in maintaining company assets.
- Maintains facility cleanliness and upkeep of program.
- Responds to emergencies and initiates action as required.
- Participates in development of Quality Improvement projects.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications and Preferences
- 1 Year of Groundskeeper experience - long term care facility experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Familiarity with sprinkler systems and other landscaping equipment
- Knowledge of gardening techniques
- Knowledge of guarding products such as fertilizers and pesticides
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods of time
- At least two years of sobriety if in recovery
- A Valid driver’s license
- CPR Certificate
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background.
Pay Rate: Starting hourly $18 - $20.50 depending on knowledge and experience
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge: The Groundskeeper will:
- Possess strong ability to communicate and work effectively with diversity.
- Basic knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
Abilities: To excel in this position the Facilities Technician should be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
- Analytical – The Groundskeeper should be able to use his best judgement and adhere to state and federal regulations.
- Problem Solving – The Groundskeeper will be able to resolve and respond to any unforeseen emergencies as they occur.
- Ethics – Treat clients, staff, co-workers, visitors, contractors, and guests of Mountain Springs Recovery with respect and dignity; work ethically and uphold the values and standards or Mountain Springs Recovery.
- Attendance, Punctuality, Reliability – Arrive on-site, on-time, as scheduled, consistently with a professional disposition. Ensure all work responsibilities are covered in the event of an absence or scheduled vacation.
- Leadership – The Groundskeeper should be able to lead and direct when necessary.
- Strong Character – Staying calm under pressure is essential. Having an approachable demeanor without compromising Mountain Springs Recovery Standards of ethics and workmanship.
- Organization – Must be highly organized and efficient in managing the necessary daily client/staff demands and tasks associated with them.
In addition to the base pay regular earnings, employees will have the opportunity to earn additional compensation in the form of a target flat rate bonus to be paid quarterly based on Company and program-specific performance achievement.
