TITLE: Elementary Teacher
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB GOAL: To teach students according to county and state policy, mission, core beliefs, academic goals, and target areas.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess a valid West Virginia Teaching Certificate for Elementary Education K-6.
- Completion of a successful background check.
- Demonstrated ability to provide successful instruction in reading and math.
- Demonstrated ability to provide differentiated instruction and intervention to students exhibiting a wide range of abilities and behaviors.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Any additional combination of training or experience which would lead to successful employment as an Elementary Teacher.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

- Utilize a variety of research-based instructional strategies.

- Engage in professional development for self-renewal that guides continuous examination and improvement of professional practice.
- Engage in collaborative learning opportunities for self-renewal with colleagues.
- Participate in school-wide collaborative efforts to support the success of all students.
- Work with parents, guardians, families and community entities to support student learning and well-being.
- Promote practices and policies that improve school environment and student learning.
- Provide measurable progress of student learning of state-approved curricula.
- Demonstrate professional conduct as defined in law, policy and procedure at the state, district, and school level.
