SUMMARY
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated part-time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at Crimson Heights, serving both Cedar City and Saint George. Our residential treatment program provides comprehensive care and support to individuals facing mental health and behavioral health challenges. As a part-time RN, you will play a vital role in promoting the health, safety, and well-being of our residential clients in both locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Patient Care: Provide direct nursing care to residential clients, including conducting health assessments, administering medications, and monitoring vital signs. Collaborate with the clinical team to develop and implement individualized care plans based on the unique needs of each resident.
- Medication Management: Ensure accurate medication administration according to physician orders and established protocols. Monitor residential clients for adverse reactions and side effects, and provide education on medication compliance and potential interactions.
- Health Promotion: Promote wellness and preventive care through health education, counseling, and advocacy. Offer guidance on healthy lifestyle choices, nutrition, exercise, and self-care practices to support residential clients’ overall well-being.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond effectively to medical emergencies and crises within the residential setting. Assess and triage residents in crisis situations, implement appropriate interventions, and coordinate emergency medical services as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate medical records, including nursing assessments, progress notes, medication administration records, and incident reports. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and documentation requirements.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Communicate effectively with other members of the treatment team, including therapists, case managers, and support staff, to coordinate care and ensure continuity of services for residents. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and treatment planning sessions as needed.
- Family Involvement: Engage with residential clients’ families and support systems to provide information, education, and emotional support. Foster open communication and collaboration to enhance family involvement in the treatment process and promote positive outcomes for residents.
- Quality Improvement: Contribute to ongoing quality improvement efforts by participating in program evaluations, clinical audits, and performance improvement initiatives. Identify areas for enhancement and implement evidence-based practices to optimize patient care delivery.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Utah.
- Knowledge of mental health disorders and co-occurring conditions, as well as evidence-based treatment approaches and recovery principles.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound clinical judgments in complex situations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive treatment environment.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer proficiency.
- Flexibility to work variable shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
