Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Educator to join our team. The Clinical Nurse Educator will be responsible for developing and implementing educational programs for nurses in various healthcare settings.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and deliver clinical education for Home Health and Hospice staff.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Rehabilitation and the Director of Patient Care Services to ensure consistent education and training.
- Conduct in-person training and orientation sessions, including travel to ProHealth locations for onsite training.
- Provide teaching aids and training materials as necessary.
- Oversee and coordinate orientations, training sessions, and clinical courses.
- Serve as a liaison between various departments to ensure consistent orientation practices.
- Mentor, train, and support new clinical staff.
- Act as a super-user for clinical documentation systems (DeVero, Oasis, Gmail).
- Participate in performance improvement activities related to care, staff education, engagement, and clinical documentation.
- Execute training on organizational computer programs, policies, and procedures for new employees.
- Coordinate supervisory visits, precepting, and clinical meetings.
- Ensure timely completion of required education and skills assessments, ensuring competency.
- Assess learning needs and identify competency gaps, defining outcomes and interventions accordingly.
- Re-evaluate new clinical staff before independent field deployment.
- Prepare and deliver training activities to all clinical staff.
- Evaluate and develop appropriate training needs with cost/benefit analyses.
- Maintain records of training activities and employee progress.
- Conduct audits of clinical staff work and present findings and recommendations for improvement.
- Provide in-house and field training for new and current clinical staff.
- Attend seminars and continuing education programs to stay abreast of current trends in staff education.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to develop and implement employee satisfaction and turnover reduction programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Current California RN license and CPR certification.
- Oasis Certification.
- 3 years of RN experience in a Homecare setting.
- 4 years of clinical training experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills required to support educational systems.
- Detail-oriented, self-directed, and able to deliver results with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Creative problem-solving approach.
- Proficient in adult teaching/learning theories.
- Ability to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate educational programs in healthcare.
- Strong public speaking skills.
- Current knowledge of regulatory and JCAHO accreditation requirements.
- Professional demeanor and adherence to confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
- Knowledge of current OSHA standards.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive work relationships with various stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
